ABOUT ME

From a young age, I’ve been in love with the written word, getting lost in the worlds I imagined and the ones I found in books. After years of teaching English, I decided to chase my childhood dream of becoming a published author. My first taste of this dream becoming reality was when a short story I wrote at twelve about a family winning an ox at a raffle got published in my local newspaper thanks to my very persisent teacher.

My writing often centers on strong female characters, with themes of love, loss, and motherhood frequently woven in. My debut novel, “Me Here Without You,” is set in Finland, and mirrors my own experiences of living in various places around the world such as the USA, Netherlands, Australia and now, Slovenia.

Beyond reading and writing, I love to travel and meet new people. I also have hyperphantasia, which means my mind often feels like it’s abuzz with dialogue, background soundtracks, and a persistent inner critic, which is impossible to silence. To quiet the noise and generate fresh ideas, I run. As for reading, it’s a lifelong passion of mine. There’s nothing quite like curling up with a good book and getting lost in its pages.

When I’m not teaching or writing, I spend my time with my family and my dog. You can follow my writing journey on TikTok and Instagram, and keep up with updates and news about my book releases by subscribing to my newsletter. My road to becoming an author is full of with self-doubt, anxiety, and bouts of imposter syndrome, but I’m trying to take it one step at a time and quiet down the critic inside of me. I invite you to join me on this exciting path of storytelling; I’d love to have you in my corner.
